A few guys have suggested an idea very similar to this. So far this is the best and most simple way I have seen to transition into our roster expansion.
This concept is to sort of treat the roster expansion as a mini draft. By starting off slow and only allowing one add per week, teams can fairly sort out the top targeted available players. It also gives a GM three shots per week to get their one claim in, ensuring nobody misses the chance to utilize their weekly pick.
The waiver priority would utilize our 2016 Entry Draft order (last place to first place from last season).
Weeks 1-2 -1 add per week -Waiver Processing Dates: Mon, Wed, Friday
Weeks 3-4 -2 adds per week -Waiver Processing Dates: Mon, Wed, Friday
After the 4 weeks are up we could revert back to our normal rules of two adds per week on a first-come, first-serve basis. Players who are dropped from a team would hit waiver wire for 72 hours with a priority waiver order. OR we could decide to permanently adopt this new system. We could make that decision after we get to see how this worked.
Need opinions and suggestions.
As soon as we figure this out we will open up free agency again.
Note: The 2016-17 League is now open. Make sure to back out of last years league and open the new one (for those who are bookmarked).
