Before you read this you need to understand four things:
1. This would not change absolutely anything about our current league
2. This would only add an extra element to our league
3. If a GM chose to, he could pretend the Memorial Cup and the two other leagues didn't exist
4. You do not have to join any of the other two leagues, you can just continue playing in this one like nothings changed. But you could join the other ones if you wanted.
Alright, so we currently have began the formation of the WHL Dynasty League. An idea we have been tossing around is also forming the QMJHL Dynasty League. All three leagues would use the exact same rules and settings and run completely independently with their own Forums and Fantrax (exactly like this league runs now).
A main website would be created and named something along the lines of "The Memorial Cup" or "CHL Dynasty Franchise" whatever. This website would link to each of our three leagues forums. The main website would also have LIVE automatically updated standings of all three of the Dynasty leagues. None of these teams would ever actually play each other on Fantrax. BUT, at the very end the champion of each of the three leagues will be "calculated" head-to-head using the stats from the week of their respective championship match.

So each league champion would get a head-to-head scores vs both of the other league champs. These scores would be added together and the overall winner would win the Memorial Cup and be crowned champion of 48 teams all playing within exactly the same environment.
The main website would be very simple. I would have a photoshop expert create a picture of all three teams logos that can be clicked on to reach the forums of their league. There would only be a couple other features on the website. One would be the live updated standings of all three leagues. Another would be the history of all of the league champs and Memorial Cup champs. We could also add an information section explaining how the all leagues work together and the rules, etc.
This would be almost exactly how the real CHL functions. None of the teams of the three leagues play each other all season long or even during the playoffs. The only time they face each other is when the champions meet at the Memorial Cup for a round robin tournament. Basically the same thing we would be doing.
As I said above, this would not change anything about our current league. I would never lead this league into a direction that assumes higher risk. The top priority of this league will always remain longevity. This concept does not increase the risk of this league folding. If the WHL or QMJHL league fell apart then the whole Memorial Cup thing would disappear and we would go on like it never happened. It wouldn't change anything.
We likely have someone who is going to be the head manager of the WHL league. The forums and Fantrax league are already created. whldynastyleague.freeforums.net/
As of now the WHL is just being created as it's own league with no strings attached to this one. If we can find someone to manage the QMJHL that we trust to do a good job then there is a possibility of forming the QMJHL this year as well as the Memorial Cup. Although, it is likely the third league doesn't get formed until next summer. But if you are interested in running the QMJHL, feel free to pitch to me your proposal. You don't necessarily need to be a super experienced manager of fantasy hockey. All the decisions will be made within the OHL League. But you would have to be willing to manage your GM's when they are being a pain and keep things up to date and organized. I will create 100% of the forums and Fantrax and ultimately hold complete ownership of both. But it will be completely up to you to answer the bell for everything else. You will have to recruit and interview GM's for the league as well. Our main website and already established league should be decent advertisement chips to help speed that up. I will be there to help but I have enough on my plate and need someone that can get shit done themselves.
