-Flint has dibs on the Rockets -Mississauga Steelheads has dibs on Seattle -Hamilton has dibs on BWK -I took Tri-City (But if Steelheads drop out dibs on Seattle)
Whoever here wants to play feel free to register so I know how many more teams we need to find. The forums are still a work in progress. I think we'll have them finished and ready to recruit very soon but I'm not going to hold myself to any deadlines. Just depends on what I got going day-to-day.
Keep in mind before deciding to register for this league that it has to be the exact same rules for the CHL concept to work. Some people prefer variety so it's something to consider before pulling the trigger. The QMJHL and the Memorial Cup thing is unlikely to get formed this year as that would be a big project to tackle at once. However, is is possible that the CHL website will be created and we do the Memorial Cup between just the OHL and WHL. That could happen this summer, during the upcoming season, or maybe next summer. It could happen never if things don't go so smooth and managing a 3rd league proves to be to much to manage (depending mostly on who we can find to run it and if they can do a good job). That is still the long-term goal but we are going to take it one step at a time.

Soo,
You are welcome to Seattle if you'd like, no big deal to me, just give me the Oil Kings instead. All good, and thanks again for setting this up, it sounds great.
Cheers,
John (Missisauga)

Once you register an account on the WHL forums send Tri-City Americans a private message (let me know who you are on here) and I'll send ya a Fantrax invite.

I didn't get a fantrax invite yet You really don't want me in there to steal your picks and win two leagues

Just got one question. With the memorial cup the host automatically gets a spot in the tournament. I was just wondering if this has been thought of having a random draw out of the three leagues to have a host who makes it automatically.
It is a dumb rule of the memorial cup but I just thought I would ask.

Also with the formation of this league I'm guessing that the playoffs will be pushed up a week or two, is that correct? If so then the trade deadline should be earlier as well. Was not sure if the plan was to just take the stats for each team in their final week and do the math manually on who wins

Change the ohl to WHL and register. It won't be free as I know you stated you didn't have money to pay for another premium league if that's a concern still

I agree Soo. I saw the post on the top 3 teams battling it out and thought I would ask about it. I too don't oppose to it but I also wont be saddened if we don't add it to the memorial cup league.

Was not sure if the plan was to just take the stats for each team in their final week and do the math manually on who wins The Memorial Cup won't change anything in this league. Looking back at last year, Flint won the OHL League. It would take all of Flints stats from the championship match when he played Sudbury and vs those stats against the WHL champ and the QMJHL Champ. Those wins and losses from the two calculated matches would then be added together. Then we would get a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for the Memorial Cup. Tie breaker rules would be the same as the league rules. Nothing fancy. I know if you were specifically playing an opponent and knew their stats you would make adjustments that you will not be possible this way. I mean doing it in Fantrax is possible too I guess. But then we would need to start making changes to our regular league and cutting weeks out. I would like to avoid The Memorial Cup effecting this league period. It is just a bonus feature. The priority is this league and the WHL/QMJHL will have the same priorities as this league does. Which again, is sustaining itself as an independent league long-term. We can look at all possibilities down the road. But first thing is first and that is to get to that point. Once we accomplish that we can start dreaming up the next step in creating the ultimate dynasty league.

Alright Steelheads, your time is up on taking Seattle now that we are opening the league up for recruiting I'm just not feeling this Tri-City Americans thing and I want to rep a USA team. I'll reserve Edmonton Oil Kings for you though!

The only scenario I would be in favor of a 'Host' team being involved was if the defending Memorial Cup champ from the previous season was named the host team and got an automatic berth into the final. This could be the 'perk' of winning.
