To Soo Greyhounds:
Ryan Johanson
Sam Bennet
To Flint Firebirds:
Johnny Guadreau
Loui Eriksson
I'm looking to have a little rebuild. Keeping Guadreau when hes one of top points leaders on a entry level cap hit while not seriously competing just isn't right. Eriksson is tearing it up but starting to lean on the older side (No plans for him in my rebuild). Great player for a team contending over the next couple seasons.
Guadreau to me is one of the most dangerous players in the NHL. But I have been watching Calgary closely for weeks debating going after Bennet. I think Bennet has been the 2nd most dangerous offensive player on the team. He has been damn near creating a goal every single night but has unfortunately been snake bitten and the puck doesn't end up in the net. I have no doubt that Bennet becomes a good hockey player. If he doesn't become the elite player he has the potential to be. He has already shown that in the NHL he will be a solid player that should be a safe bet for 50ish points per year. Calgary is a good situation for a player like Bennet to take a big role and emerge (Which is one of the most important details evaluating him for me).
Ryan Johanson has gotten a bad reputation for being a lazy arrogant player. I do think this is true but hes not a complete idiot like Evander Kane for example. I am confident that the 23 year old Johansen will smarten up and get it together. The only downside is he could end up demanding a ton of money in a couple seasons if he does. Regardless he is young and should be worth the cap hit.
Could be a very good trade for both teams. Could end up hurting one of us (more than likely me).
